Job title: Climate Impact and Assessment Lead, International Investor, Abu Dhabi, UAECompany: Private Equity RecruitmentJob description: ImpactInfrastructure / Renewables / Energy TransitionMiddle East5 - 10 years10 - 15 yearsAbout our client: We are working with an investment fund dedicated to climate-focused investments, based in Abu Dhabi. They are actively seeking a key hire to lead climate impact and assessments, responsible for maintaining and driving the evolution and implementation of impact framework to support decision-making and the assessment of climate impact.What the job involves:Lead the assessment of climate impact and emissions contribution of existing investments, as well as potential investments as part of the due diligence and investment processSupport Investment Committee by providing recommendations on climate perspectives for potential dealsLead the development of guidance materials for the investment teams to ensure consistent high-quality investments in the context of climate and additionality impactSupport engagement with investeesLead the development of expectation material for GPsLead the assessment of climate risk and potential material financial impact on investments, providing input to investment team's due diligence and valuation processLead the assessment of GPs' capability of managing climate risk impact on their respective fundsLead the assessment of E, S, and G risks of any investmentsProvide technical guidance to investment teamsBuild and coordinate a network of technical climate specialists to draw onOversee other members of team in climate impact assessment and climate measurement and reporting rolesWho we are looking for:Strong knowledge and experience working in climate impact research, sustainable finance, or related field, preferably with experience integrating climate considerations into investment strategiesStrong risk management background within a financial institution, preferably for an asset owner or asset manager, and can perform risk analytics and assessments related (but not limited) to climate, ESG, and other risk identificationExperience leading initiatives in establishing ESG and Climate Risk approaches preferredKnowledge of key standards and frameworks for climate impact measurement and reportingExcellent communication skillsMust be highly collaborative and a strong team playerFluency in English plus at least one other major language would be considered advantageousExperience in the Middle East region is a plusExpected salary:Location: Abu DhabiJob posting date: Sat, 06 Jul 2024 22:38:12 GMT
