Control all balance sheet accounts by preparation of monthly account reconciliations and actions accordingly
Specifically review the accounts payable balance to ensure accuracy and propose action and follow up to be taken to ensure a clear balance with limited over 90/120 day amounts
Control accommodation advance deposits
Monitor house banks and investments
Analyse and investigate cashiers' over and shorts
Code and input manual cheques
Investigate and input bank statement data
Prepare bank reconciliations such as agency impress and replacement reserve
Review accounts payable monthly inventory reconciliations
Review accounts payable purchase journal
Review travel agency commission payments
Maintain replacement reserve cash book
Review and prepare input in the general ledger from various sources
Review food and beverage control reconciliations and journal
Review accounts payable/inventory interface
Prepare month-end journals
Prepare balance sheet record and identify and reconcile all items therein
Audit payroll
Prepare monthly invoices for other IHG hotels, General Manager, Store and Shop rentals
Prepare all journal vouchers for month-end closing
Prepare monthly Financial Statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives, as directed by Assistant Finance and Business Support Manager
Responsible for month-end back-office computer closing
Approve various city ledger transactions before posting
Prepare asset purchase/disposal report for owners
Approve payment requests, employee advances and petty cash prior to payment
Assist Finance and Business Support Director and Assistant Finance and Business Support Manager in budget preparation and input, forecast reports and monthly reporting to corporate finance
Supervise Accounts department in the absence of the Assistant Finance and Business Support Manager
Report directly to and communicate with the Finance and Business Support Director and Assistant Finance and Business Support Manager on all matters pertaining to accounting and financial controls
Cooperate, coordinate and communicate with other departments in matters concerning accounting related matters and internal control
Interact, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including hotel's bank, tax auditors and other hotels and IHG corporate offices
Work with Superior and Human Resource Manager to ensure the departmental performance of colleagues is productive.What we need from you:Minimum of 3 years' experience as Accounting Manager in a similar capacity in a hotel
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology
Excellent communication skills within the organization. Proactive communicator
High managerial skills to meet and focus on deadlines, planning, results-driven, and flexible.
