Job Purpose: To oversee the procurement of packaging materials for the company, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers, as well as implementing cost-saving measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and source reliable suppliers for primary packaging materials (laminates, pouches, LDPE/HDPE bags, CFC, bottles, jars, labels, etc.).
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize pricing and delivery times.
- Ensure timely procurement of packaging materials to meet production requirements.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Implement strategies to streamline the packaging supply chain and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all packaging materials meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections and tests to verify product quality.
- Work with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor market trends and explore alternative suppliers to optimize costs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on packaging regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Innovation and Improvement: Research and implement innovative packaging solutions to improve product presentation and reduce costs.
- Drive continuous improvement in packaging processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and industry standards
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- A results-oriented approach and a focus on continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
- MBA or PGDM from a reputed institute.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Packaging Procurement.
- Certification in packaging engineering or supply chain management
