Job Description The main objective of the department is to assist the CRO’s Office in the management of MC Branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region, of its related activities and support our senior executives in our head office in Tokyo on the aspect of internal legal services. In doing so, you will collaborate deeply with our colleagues in our head office in Tokyo, as well as our branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region. Building and developing networks with the local counterparts and government authorities where necessary. You are expected to support by providing sound legal advice for branch offices and subsidiaries in Asia-Oceania region, in addition to the management of corporate compliance. The roles include but not limited to the followings: To review, comment on, modify and/or draft contracts and/or agreements which includes, but not limited to, NDAs, service agreements, consultant agreements, sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, employment contracts, secondment agreements, charterparties, ISDA Master Agreements and their Schedules and Confirmations, amendment agreements, and/or parent company guarantees. To conduct legal research and give legal advice to Mitsubishi Corporation and its group companies in Asia (our office covers 13 south-east and south-west Asian countries) which includes advice on companies law, commercial law, labor law, insolvency law, competition law, anti-bribery law, law on export controls and personal data protection law. To handle claims and/or legal disputes. To conduct internal investigations on compliance related matters and write reports in Japanese to headquarters of Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo (“Tokyo HQ”). To conduct seminars on legal, compliance, general administration and/or sustainability & CSR related topics (in English and/or Japanese). To keep updated as to important legal, compliance and/or sustainability & CSR related information including changes in important laws and regulations in Asia. To share legal and/or compliance related information with Tokyo HQ and/or Mitsubishi Corporation’s group companies in Asia. To draft or review internal rules of Mitsubishi Corporation’s group companies in Asia-Oceania region. To implement any compliance related program. To collect law firms’ information and keeping good relationship with law firms in Asia-Oceania region. To closely co-work with Tokyo HQ in connection with legal, compliance, general administration, public relations and/or sustainability & CSR related matters. Any other legal, compliance, general administration, public relations and/or sustainability & CSR related matters assigned by Department Head of Regional Legal & General Affairs Department. Job Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies or equivalent Basic knowledge on companies law, commercial law, labor law, insolvency law, competition law and anti-bribery law under English and/or US laws High proficiency in English language and Japanese language (JLPT Level N1 or ability to speak, read and write at business level) to communicate effectively through phone calls, emails and/or meetings with the head offices in Tokyo, as well as both local and expatriate staff in the branch offices and subsidiary companies Skills to create and present materials both in Japanese and English to communicate effectively with counterparties More than 2-year experience in abovementioned requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
