Geophysicist
تفاصيل الوظيفة
Aramco energizes the world economy. Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer. With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society. Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply. We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.OverviewWe are seeking for a Geophysicist to join Unconventional Data Solution Division (URADSD), with expertise in advancing Unconventional exploration programs. The Unconventional Data Solution Division is responsible for the identification and evaluation of Unconventional Resources that fall within the broad spectrum of tight reservoirs to source shale plays within the Kingdom. We bring a new perspective to the Kingdom's, world-renown, conventional systems with an eye for unconventional opportunities. Integrated subsurface studies initiated by the group, often challenging previous biases, guide our portfolio development and support the proposal of new exploration wells. In addition, the division also compliments existing asset teams with ongoing appraisals and field development plans. As a Geophysicist your primary role will be to partner with geologists in preparing drilling recommendations and recommend seismic acquisition programs including the determination of seismic acquisition and/or reprocessing parameters.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Apply technical geophysical tools to assist in prospect creation, evaluation, and maturation of unconventional resources (shale gas and liquids and tight gas)
- Use seismic interpretation, analysis, modeling, petrophysical tools and integration software packages to partner with development geologists in preparing drill recommendations.
- Understand strengths and weaknesses of different packages. Apply tools in fit-for-purpose fashion.
- Determine seismic acquisition and/or reprocessing parameters that would improve understanding of unconventional resource plays.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and intercompany experts to leverage their talents.
- As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or a related science as appropriate to the required discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- 12+ years' experience with at least 5 in unconventional plays including shale or tight gas, with hands on experience in unconventional hydrocarbon basins required.
- Other desirable skills include strong geophysical workstation skills, strong fundamental interpretation geophysical skill set, including well to seismic correlation, seismic mapping, velocity model building, depth conversion, 3D visualization, reservoir properties from seismic (RPFS) work flow, AVO analysis, acoustic and elastic inversion and survey design, regional geolophysical evaluation of unconventional plays, structural characterization of natural fractures and their impact on unconventional reservoirs, sequence stratigraphic analysis, unconventional play evaluation, geophysical support for an unconventional play or development, reservoir characterization in unconventional hydrocarbon plays (tight gas, shale gas, unconventional oil, and/or coal bed methane).
