Minimize impacts on the Environment (environmental footprint of operations & management of historical pollution). Protect Alstom assets and reduce risks of business interruption resulting from fire and natural catastrophes POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES SUPPORT SITE EHS MANAGER FOR EHS TOPICS Cooperate with the internal resources to achieve EHS objectives. Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and to define appropriate measures to control risks. Support the EHS Site Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans. Assist Site EHS Manager to coordinate and control activities with respect of EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operation areas. Provide support and advice to site personnel to prevent injury, damage to plant and equipment, fire, environmental pollution. Recognize the best practices and the good performance. React to violations to regulations and Alstom Standards. Advise other Site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities. DEVELOP SITE EHS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Support the Site EHS Manager to develop, deploy and maintain the local procedures and tools and make sure they are aligned with Alstom Standards and international standards (ISO 14001 and ISO45001). Support the Site EHS Manager to ensure that Alstom EHS standards and tools (Alstom Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP), Transport Operational Performance in Environment (TOPE), Transport Key processes) are deployed at Site level. EHS COMPLIANCE Assist the Site EHS Manager to ensure compliance of the site activities according to the EHS Plan, guidelines and work instructions. Perform EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements. DEVELOP EHS CULTURE IN THE SITE Inform, instruct and train employees to carry out the work in safe & environment-friendly mode according to the method of statement. Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programs by providing EHS inductions and ensuring Toolbox meetings are organized. REPORT, MEASURE & REVIEW Support the EHS Site Manager to capture, report, record, investigate and analyse accidents/incidents in order to implement corrective and preventive actions. Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS manager. Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any discrepancy. N.B. If the Site is a Regional Center, the EHS Engineer/Technician scope is both Site driven from the Regional Center. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS Injury Frequency Rate (IFR) 1 & IFR 2 Fatality / severe accidents SOV number or other leading indicators Health and wellbeing (Occupational diseases, ergonomic) Environment (Energy, water, waste, Transport Operational Performance in Environment, Volatile Organic Compound) EDUCATION University Engineer or Technical Qualification Health & Safety Qualification recognized by the enforcing authorities in the country of operation (when required). Nationally recognised, min 3 years qualification EXPERIENCE Professional experience 3 year`s (can be adjusted depending on the size of the Site). Experience of almost 3 years in Environment, Health & Safety Highly recommended experience for manufacturing sites or for Regional Centers Good knowledge and understanding of ISO14001 and ISO45001 Deep knowledge of local legal EHS requirements., including all SA Regulations for Contractor Management TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills Commercial and financial awareness, with a full understanding of the impact of failure with regards to business costs, production targets and fulfilment of customer orders Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills Project management skills Excellent attention to detail skills Strong negotiation skills & leadership Active team player, deadline driven, process driven Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
