Typical tasks performed include:
- Troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of:
- High Voltage Cable Connection and Joint
- High Voltage Cubicle operation and repair
- Air Compressor Electrical Repair and Wiring
- AC/DC motor and generator controls
- Safety Control devices and limit switches adjustment
- Static converters, VFD Troubleshooting and programming
- Storage battery and battery control gear
- Automatic voltage regulators (AVR)
- Synchronizing and automatic load sharing
- Equipment installations, cable installations, and cable terminations using drawings & connection diagrams
- Ohm’s law, AC/DC power equations
- Motor types and motor speed controls
- Generator types and generator voltage control
- Cable types, sizes, and ratings; insulation classes
- Degree of protection against water and foreign materials
- Circuit breakers, protection devices, and fuses
- Electrical equipment for hazardous areas
- Diploma or HND degree in Electrical or High Voltage
- 3 years’ experience in the field
- Ability to carry out repairs and modifications or new installation of all electrical equipment and components usually fitted/used in High Voltage Substations, Air Compressor, or Pumping stations
- Experience in Electrical repair and Connection in HV Substation Cubicles or Underground Cabling
- Ensure safe working practices are always maintained
- Maintain acceptable ISO standards – 9001, 14001, 45001, 30000 of Quality, Environmental, OHSMS, and American Petroleum Institute (API) Q1
- Apply and execute the requirements of ISO-28000, ISO-20858, ISO 27001, ISPS related to job and Security management System
