Software Tester

BALANCED+ is looking for a Software Tester to participate in on-going software development projects in diverse business environments. You will be involved in performing automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by our developers is fit for the purpose. Some of the duties include analysis of software and systems, mitigate risk, and prevent software issues. You will get to work with great people in different organizations and help to improve and make a difference in business operation.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the quality of software development and deployment (web-based, mobile, and desktop applications)Devise testing strategy, test plans, test scripts, test cases, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testingPerform essential requirements gathering, as well as business process and needs analysisPlan and organize testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems/integration/regression tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)Work with the project team in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the required systemsAnalyze user stories and use cases/requirements for validity and feasibilityAnswer client calls and emails to triage software problems and needsLearn and improve personal IT knowledge and skillsDetect and track software defects and inconsistenciesApply quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycleProvide support and documentationJob Requirements1-3 years of experience as a Software Tester or similar rolePositive attitude to learn new technologies and productsAbility to work on multiple projects at the same timeAble to work with little or no supervisionGood command of the English language, both oral and writtenAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslySome experience in data analysisAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionSense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's successCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsTeam playerGreat interpersonal and communication skillsSkills and QualificationsBasic knowledge of software architectureExperience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience levelKnowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of applicationsKnowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test casesKnowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platformsExperience executing functional tests, non-functional tests, and systems level integration testsExperience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activitiesExperience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools, and structured methodologiesExperience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases, and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validationExperience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life CycleExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skillsA team player with a track record for meeting deadlinesKnowledge of one or more automated testing toolsOtherUniversity or college degree in software development, computer science, engineering, or math (or in progress)Demonstrated ability to work effectively with emerging technologiesInternational graduates and newcomers are welcome to apply
