The Director of the Clinical Governance Unit is responsible for providing advanced leadership and collaboratively managing clinical governance, safety and quality activities across the Caboolture, Kilcoy, and Woodford Directorate & Satellite Hospitals. This role facilitates best practices and optimal consumer/person outcomes within an interprofessional environment. The Director oversees the implementation of safety and quality strategies, leveraging expert contemporary knowledge and advanced skills in strategic planning, quality management, critical thinking, and professional leadership. The role coordinates clinical governance, safety, quality, and risk priorities and initiatives in collaboration with executives and CKW teams. About you This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North values:
- Lead clinical governance within CKW across all disciplines, and influence the direction of clinical governance, quality, safety, and health informatics programs.
- Lead and manage change, fostering innovation, safety, and effective risk management, aligning key strategic objectives with service delivery and a Safety II culture.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships and partnerships within HHS and beyond to integrate and leverage safety, quality, and clinical governance activities.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of international, national, and state standards, legislation and policies and ensure these are translated into care delivery across CKW.
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHS) standards committees and accreditation activities in collaboration with the CKW Executive Leadership Team.
- Tertiary qualification in an Allied Health Profession.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and, where applicable, registration or membership with the relevant National Board or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of duties.
- The successful applicant must hold a relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) in an eligible allied health profession including but not limited to:
- Psychology: Mandatory possession of at least a tertiary degree qualification in Psychology from a recognised tertiary institution and full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Accreditation (or ability to readily obtain accreditation within 12 months) as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Social Work: It is a mandatory requirement for all Social Work positions that the candidate is eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a university-level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership to the association. Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a certification of eligibility letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership of AASW. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for shortlisting in the selection process.
- Occupational Therapy: Mandatory possession of a degree qualification in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
