Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with more than 130 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,000 are graduate students. We invite applications for the position of Assistant Director. Reporting to the Associate Chair (Academic) in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the incumbent shall work closely with Associate Chair (Academic) and Assistant Chair (Lifelong Learning) to drive a wide range of administration duties to support the smooth functioning of APO and is responsible for the overall strategic co-ordination of the administrative, financial, and operational aspects across all postgraduate MSc programmes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute key initiatives to achieve the strategic objectives and branding of the APO.
- Coordinate the curriculum review across all MSc programmes, related to academic governance including curriculum changes and academic collaborations with other institutions.
- Identify and leverage on other operational and administrative opportunities to achieve collaboration and synergy across all postgraduate programmes.
- Provide counselling on student's academic and wellness related matters.
- Resolve students' queries and appeals in a responsive and equitable manner.
- Develop, implement, and manage alumni engagement strategies and programmes focused on increasing the depth and diversity of the alumni relationship.
- Other duties as assigned by Chair/Associate Chair/Assistant Chair.
- Bachelor's degree (Postgraduate degree preferred).
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in operations, administration, student recruitment or admissions. Experience in Institute of Higher Learning and academic programme management is preferred.
- Significant demonstrable skills and experience in strategic, operational and financial planning, and to analyze data, quantify results and manage budgets.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management, good administration and organizational skills.
- A people's person, self-starter, mature and able to work independently while being an effective team-player at the same time.
- Deliver a superior level of customer service and programme satisfaction to internal and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of higher education landscape and university organizational structure would be an advantage.
