IntroductionAga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities.

Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, Pakistan (AKU-IED) has been a 3-decade partner with the Department of Education (DoE), GB contributing to improving children's access to quality education, strengthening governance of education, and facilitating community involvement in schools in Gilgit-Baltistan.

AKU is currently partnering with the DoE GB on the GB Education Fellows (EFs) project, i.e. a commitment of GB Govt to at least partly address the dearth of teachers in the public sector schools in GB. The AKU-led Consortium invites applications from suitable candidates to induct them as Assistant Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation and Research for GB Education Fellows project at PDCN.

This is a grant-funded contractual position for a period of ten months.

ResponsibilitiesUnder the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Project Director, the Assistant Manager: Monitoring and Evaluation will assume the following responsibilities and tasks:

develop and implement systems for monitoring and evaluation of GBEF project

take a lead role in setting up operational arrangements for the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of project data

contribute to GBEF project annual planning and ongoing review process

facilitate the project team in documenting the project's activities and evidence related to Project's outcomes and impact

ensure reliable EMIS for data management and communication

build the capacities of the project team in monitoring and evaluation skills

design baseline and end-line data collection strategies study gauge the project's impact

based on the Annual Work Plan and in coordination with the Project Manager, design the framework for the physical and process monitoring of project activities

review monitoring reports and analyze them to identify challenges in project implementation in coordination with the Assistant Manager, Project

collaborate with GB government Officials regarding project implementation at schools level

make regular visits to the field to support Education Fellows in achieving the project's goals

guide sharing of the outputs of M&E findings on a quarterly basis with project staff and key stakeholders.

RequirementsYou should have:

a Master's degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Statistics, from a reputable national or international university

at least three years of relevant experience, preferably in an educational setting, and demonstrate proficiency in using SPSS/NVIVO and other data analysis packages

possess strong analytical and communication skills in both oral and written forms

sound knowledge of computer software, particularly those required for quantitative data analysis

willingness to undertake field visits for data collection and monitoring purposes

ability to work flexible hours, including odd working hours, as required by the project's demands

capability of working effectively within a team environment

possess knowledge of research methodologies, communication, and reporting.
