Security Engineer
تفاصيل الوظيفة
Join the SecOps team that keeps the innovation show safely on the road. How you make our customers happy?Bol is changing retail to make daily life simpler for 13 million customers. A mission we take on with 49,000 partners that enrich our retail tech platform with unique propositions. Combined, we now offer 38 million articles. But while we're happy to provide customers with plenty of window shopping opportunities, 'shop and/or data lifters' need to be banned. Our SecOps team of hackers, defenders and problem-solvers makes sure they are, so customers, partners and business stakeholders can shop (and sleep) safely. The biggest challengeBol is ever-evolving, and innovating our retail tech platform is a core activity. As SecOps we don't want to roadblock innovations. That is, if we don't have to. We're sad when we do, but optimistic that it's rarely necessary. We also want to enable teams to take full security ownership of their products. We monitor, scan, hack and sometimes block to ensure the speeding bol train doesn't go off the rails. Our customers and partners expect nothing less! What you do as Security EngineerIn this role you will be one of the security engineers in our multi-disciplinary operations team. Together with colleagues from a variety of professional backgrounds you develop and operate state-of-the-art security engineering and monitoring (SIEM) solutions. You help to investigate when a security incident occurs and use your insights and experience to advise IT teams on how to build their systems and applications securely. Our team is looking for an engineer that really enjoys the battle with the invisible enemies at the gates, not afraid to take on operational responsibilities if that's what it takes to keep those gates locked safely. You are the one that will automate and outsmart them and protect the data of our customers, retailers and employees. Together with your security engineering and hacking colleagues in the team, you will be responsible for keeping bol safe and secure. We have a lot to offer, but not dull moments; there is always something new to pick up and the security landscape is constantly changing. We also invite you to claim ownership over your way of working. Experiment with the newest tech, be autonomous and pick your favorite way to get the job done. We are enthusiastic ambassadors of the Automation Is Good mantra. After all, a good IT engineer is 'manually lazy' and if automation lightens the workload, that's extra time to focus on the 'hard stuff' and to pioneer your backside off. And yes, we invite you to come up with good/better/downright crazy solutions instead of telling you exactly what to do and how to do it. As long as you take our standards into consideration, we'll roll out the red carpet for your plans. Challenge yourself. And challenge colleagues. Share knowledge and insights. Tell us about plans that worked out great. And, especially, about ones that didn't, so others won't make the same mistake, and you won't be 'beamed up' from your holiday address to solve an issue that should not have occurred to begin with. Lastly: we don't have that 'holier-than-thou' mentality that's sometimes associated with our brand of coding: business colleagues are equals and their plans are treated as such. After all, security should not hinder innovation, but rather make innovations faster and safer. Why you can make the differenceBecause you are an open-minded security engineer who is passionate about everything tech. You obviously need the right tech stack: experience with SIEM-like solutions, vulnerability scanning, cloud, big databases and at least 4 years of relevant work experience. The role calls for a quick learner who almost instinctively navigates our landscape, that consists of various technologies, such as Linux, Kubernetes, Azure (Sentinel), Google Cloud Platform, python, java, bash, PowerShell, active directory, LDAP, proxies, load balancers and firewalls. Is that list a bit too extensive? No problem. If you master some and want to master the others, we will gladly help you on your way. What we do consider pivotal, however, is the right mindset. The SecOps team is comprised of people who walk the talk, love feedback, and subscribe to the 'team successes trump personal wins' philosophy. Lone rangers get the black hat treatment.3 reasons why this is (not) for youProsYou know your stuff You know your way around cloud environments and have experience in working with security scanning and monitoring solutions.Work together Yes, if you always keep colleagues in the loop and are willing and able to help them out, no matter what professional or personal challenges they face.Live and breathe cybersecurity You are in the right chat groups, follow all the relevant X-accounts and when the internet is on fire, you want to be the first to know.ConsYou are always right No, if you are close-minded - you're one of the best at your job, so the opinions of others are just so much white noise.Never ask for help No, if you treat problems like eggs that need to be hatched: you sit on them ad infinitum and never ask anyone for help.Works on my machine No, if you shy away from the 'You build it, you run it, you love it, you hack it, you create anew' approach to software development. This is where you'll workAt the premier online retail tech platform in the Netherlands and Belgium. A platform where 13 million customers can choose from over 38 million articles. A platform that helps roughly 49,000 commercial partners run their businesses. And a platform that will never be 'finished', because bol has been reinventing retail since 1999 and we always will be. If there's a better way to do something, we're working on it! Together with our customers, partners, and over 2,900 colleagues. Bol, de winkel van ons allemaal (the store of us all). This is the story we work on every day. It is our belief, that this will grow even stronger when many different people add their uniqueness to our story. We invite you to share your story with us. Because when you bring different people together, the most beautiful things will arise.
