The Senior Accountant position at our esteemed catering and food service company in Doha, Qatar, is a pivotal role that requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in accounting practices. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about the food and beverage industry and possess a strong financial acumen. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards.Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to management.Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.Train and mentor junior accounting staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.Preferred Candidate:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues.Commitment to continuous professional development.Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.SkillsProficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective time management and organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
