THE POSITION
The Corporate Legal Counsel will play a key role in managing and ensuring Odyssey's legal affairs are in full compliance with laws and regulations. The Corporate Legal Counsel will be responsible for corporate governance, organizing Directors' and Shareholders' meetings, overseeing corporate housekeeping, and acting as Corporate Secretary. Additionally, you will ensure that Odyssey meets compliance requirements, including GDPR, and develop and implement relevant company policies. You will also manage the company's contractual/legal database, handle relationships with external legal partners, and oversee the legal budget. You will report directly to the CEO.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee corporate governance and corporate housekeeping for Odyssey, including organizing Directors' and Shareholders' meetings and acting as Corporate Secretary.
Ensure that Odyssey is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, including the GDPR.
Develop, implement, and monitor legal policies, ensuring alignment with legislative changes.
Provide legal support and advice to the procurement department, especially in contract review and negotiation.
Manage the company's contractual and legal database, ensuring it is organized, up-to-date, and accessible.
Build and maintain relationships with external legal partners, managing external legal services and associated budgets.
Manage legal risks by providing strategic legal advice to various departments across the organization.
Collaborate with external legal advisors when necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
3-6 years of experience in company law, preferably within the hospitality or similar sectors.
Expertise in corporate governance and compliance, with experience acting as Corporate Secretary.
Solid knowledge of GDPR and procurement contracts.
Experience managing legal databases and working with external legal partners.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate legal developments into actionable business strategies.
Excellent command of both Dutch and English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work independently as well as cross-functionally.
Highly proactive, with an eye for detail and accuracy in legal matters.
