Description We're looking for a big picture-Business Development Manager. A sparky individual who already has a foot in the solar (C&I) door of the renewable energy industry. Our client is a leading provider of long-term sustainable energy solutions for commercial and industrial businesses. With utility scale wheeling projects in pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their team with a Business Development expert that would secure offtakers and strategically hunt down new projects. As our ideal candidate, you have extensive business development experience under your belt and your network is inundated with key stakeholders in the South African C&I space. Our ideal candidate should have a firm grasp on renewable energy market dynamics, effective risk mitigation strategies, and pricing models . Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering or finance preferable Experience Requirements 6+ years in the South African solar industry working with rooftop, ground mount, and battery storage projects 6+ years of business development experience in the renewable energy industry Responsibilities As the Business Development Manager for our client, you would be responsible for driving business development and lead origination. This includes contributing to defining and implementing marketing strategies to increase order volumes and profitability. You would also be tasked with identifying additional products or services that can be added to our client's offering and developing relationships with senior executives and business owners to position our client's services effectively. Collaboration with our client's engineering and finance teams to develop commercially feasible solutions is crucial. You would provide technical pre-sales services to prospective clients and should have a working knowledge of the various solutions and their implementation. You would also provide reporting on all sales activities and results, as well as market intelligence, including information on competitors' activities. Staying up to date on developments in the renewable energy industry, both in South Africa and abroad, would also be essential to your role.
