Senior Technical Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Technical Engineer performs design management of various types of projects including residential, commercial, and warehouse/industrial buildings. Reviews the structural design of projects, initiates value engineering exercises, and identifies potential issues/constraints in design and construction during the early stages. Checks appropriateness of structural systems and correctness of design criteria proposed by consultants. Provides direction to consultants to ensure complete submission of structural deliverables within project schedules. Manages the documentation of structural drawings in coordination with architectural and MEP works.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and configure the basic structural components of a building or other structure to ensure design quality.
Review design criteria (basic structural components, geotechnical properties, wind loads, seismic loads, fire protection) and ensure adequacy of design.
Analyze structural elements to ensure design quality.
Review loading plans and ensure compliance with codes and project operational purposes.
Determine pressures on components, such as beams or lintels, from human use or environmental factors.
Study the impact of temporary works (formwork, tower cranes, foundations) on structural elements, providing calculations and details to ensure compliance.
Liaise with designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs that fit the aesthetic concept of the proposed project.
Provide safe structural solutions to suit architectural and MEP requirements.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings.
Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles for effective technical coordination.
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards for compliance and quality assurance.
Excellent communication and leadership skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Problem-solving abilities to anticipate and address technical issues and optimize project outcomes.
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are required for success in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with 5 years of relevant experience. 2 years in GCC is a plus.
