Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking a talented, self-directed professional with a passion to support Māori customers & develop Māori partners to achieve their digital aspirations through the use of cloud technology. AWS New Zealand is sincere about its intention to work with Māori partners and customers to ensure that cloud technology is available to Māori businesses, organisations and communities to achieve their ambitions. We recognise that Māori data is a taonga and should be supported by the best data protection possible.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the NZ leadership team to assist AWS New Zealand to drive an overall AWS Māori customer engagement strategy.
- Develop and deliver on a strategic business development plan for Māori customers in line with AWS’s overall strategic direction delivering a pipeline of leads, customers and partners.
- As necessary, attend relevant conferences, events and meetings to engage with customers and stay up to date on the Māori technology sector’s needs and interests.
- Engage in public speaking events, public relations and regular contributions to social media and Amazon blogs to be seen as a thought leader in this area both internally and externally.
- Support internal partners including AWS sales and service teams, public policy and legal teams, and AWS diversity, equity and inclusion teams to ensure alignment and to provide analysis, insights and advice on Māori culture, business trends, and customer needs to enhance services and offerings for Māori customers.

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience.
- 5+ years of professional or military experience.
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
- Proven ability in go-to-market planning, lead management and/or sales funnel management, including working with/selling to senior executives and/or board of Māori businesses and organisations.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Tikanga Māori and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of Māori structures and entities.
- Fluent Te Reo Māori.
