Job Summary

The Facilities Management Engineer oversees the workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and other building systems. This position is responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. Coordinates and integrates maintenance engineering functions with those of the design, maintenance, engineering, and operations departments.

Job Responsibilities

Monitor repair defect issues for plant, equipment, and buildings to ensure minor or zero re-works.

Ensure speedy response for all "on-call" maintenance jobs with quick works undertaken with minimal supervision.

Maintain and keep records readily available for both past maintenance works and future schedules of preventive maintenance.

Document all repair works and associated details (date, time, location, materials, cause, expenditures, etc.) in an organized and accessible manner for future auditing.

Facilitate renovations with proper documentation showing all pertinent details, attachments, and approvals, especially for cases requiring the purchase of materials and budget.

Ensure that posted schedules of routine check-ups are displayed in strategic locations for Maintenance Staff updates, with reports submitted to the Engineer.

Conduct site visits and inspections, ensuring zero accidents during maintenance jobs and physical coordination for critical works.

Respond swiftly to maintenance issues to minimize downtime in workshop operations.

Ensure all group members in the workshop use PPE and perform works as per the Company management's standards.

Oversee and schedule maintenance on all plant processing equipment, including routine and preventative maintenance.

Manage maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance, and performance management to ensure measurable goals and effective staff performance.

Perform or direct engineering evaluations and studies on existing pumping stations, lift stations, wells, water tanks, reclamation plants, and related distribution/collection facilities to determine needed upgrades for operational efficiency.

Conduct on-the-job training for direct reports to ensure required competencies are acquired.

Monitor performance and provide coaching for improvement and development.

Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge in building facility maintenance (Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Mechanical, etc.)

Knowledge of local codes and regulations

Knowledge of various materials, tools, and equipment

Knowledge of methods used in the maintenance of building equipment.

ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are required for success in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, with 3 years relevant experience; 2 years in GCC is a plus.
