**Policies & Procedures**
- Lead the formulation of strategy, budgets, policies, and procedures of the Legal, to support organizational business strategy.
- Facilitate the development and contribute towards the implementation of the HR Functional policies and procedures and controls covering all areas of Legal function so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
- Ensure the reflection of changes in law/ regulations to relevant policies and procedures.
**Legal Advice & Risks**
- Provide legal advice on all aspects of insurance including the recovery of claims under reinsurance contracts.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure legal risks have been identified and appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
- Review and provide legal advice on tender documents.
- Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.
- Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.
**Policy Development**
- Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
- Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
**Litigation Management**
- Review progress of outstanding litigations and liaise with and manage external lawyers.
- Manage multiple assignments efficiently under extreme pressure while meeting tight deadline schedules. Assignments may include complex commercial transactions, dispute avoidance and resolutions, contract documentations and negotiations, complex civil litigation, insurance claims and banking disputes.
**Corporate Governance**
- Evaluate internal control systems, procedures, legal & statutory compliances.
- Suggest areas for system improvement and discuss issues with concerned parties.
- Liaising with process owners to ensure understanding of the current position of the processes.
**Contract Negotiation**
- Review all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management's attention.
- Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities.
- Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business transactions and prepare and advise on the necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time.
**Continuous Improvement**
- Lead the Legal department in serving as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues / concerns within are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
- Direct the department in monitoring level of compliance to relevant laws, regulations and standards through its regular performance of compliance testing based on the risk assessment exercise.
**Salary**: QAR21,000.00 - QAR30,000.00 per month

- Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Bachelor's (required)
**Experience**:
- Legal: 8 years (required)
- Insurance Industry: 4 years (required)
License/Certification:
- Insurance Law certification (required)
