Position: Maintenance Support Mechanical Engineer

Airswift is seeking a Maintenance Support Mechanical Engineer to work with our client based in Qatar.

Job Purpose

To provide technical/engineering supports to Maintenance, Operations, and Supply departments to carry out improvement of reliability, costs, efficiency, optimization of maintenance execution, failure, and troubleshooting investigations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in engineering (Mechanical) from a recognized university with a minimum of 10 years of experience in similar responsibilities in oil and gas or petrochemical environments related to Engineering, Plant construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of the plants.

Responsibilities

Review capital spares status and provide recommendations for preservation and upkeep.

Review and recommend min/max spare parts levels for non-moving, obsolete, surplus spares and consolidate and update the files on a continuous basis.

Review Recommended Spare Parts lists (RSPL) and recommend spare parts for all new projects. Review stock that has passed shelf life still held in the stock and recommend replenishing or scrap as necessary.

Carry out Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) of the offers provided by Buyer/supply department for the spares of mechanical equipment (rotating and static equipment).

Review all Interface agreements between new projects and existing operations related to Mechanical Discipline from a maintenance perspective.

Carry out engineering feasibility study (eMOC - management of change) in coordination with required disciplines and develop mitigation solutions for Obsolescence Management to upgrade obsolete mechanical equipment & components (such as pumps, compressors, vessels, valves, gaskets). Exposure to Obsolescence Management for equipment and Spares will be an advantage.

Review all mechanical Master Data Governance (MDG) studies (Material creation, change, deletion, and obsolete) through SAP.

Discipline Expertise

Mechanical Engineering domain knowledge for below Equipment/systems such as Pumps, Compressors, Gas Turbines, Blowers, Heat exchangers, Valves, Loading arms, and ship loaders etc. Computer literate with knowledge of SAP and commonly used Microsoft business software packages. Good adaptability to a multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
