Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant Location: Southampton- SO16 Working Pattern: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8.45am-3pm. U-Educate are working with a supportive and inclusive school located in Southampton, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for all students. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and will be committed to supporting our students in overcoming challenges to achieve academic and personal success. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their emotional and educational needs are met.
- Foster a calm and caring environment that encourages student engagement and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
- Assist in delivering a broad curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students.
- Utilize strong emotional intelligence (EQ) to build trusting relationships with students and support their emotional well-being.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying areas of need and suggesting strategies for improvement.
- A clear understanding of SEMH and the challenges faced by students with these needs.
- Strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Calm, caring, and kind demeanor, with a genuine passion for helping students thrive.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children with SEN is desirable.
