About the role The Assistant Director of Engineering will Assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC, refrigeration, interior, FF&E, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons' policies. What you will do
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring efficient maintenance, repair, and improvement of resort facilities.
- Manage, train, and motivate engineering staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and oversee capital projects, renovations, and new construction projects to enhance resort facilities and guest experience.
- Ensure the resort adheres to local and international safety, environmental, and building regulations, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and promote sustainability throughout the resort's operations.
- Monitor and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs while maintaining the quality of services and facilities.
- Respond to guest concerns and feedback related to engineering issues, collaborating with other departments to ensure timely resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and team members.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as Department Head/Assistant Division head, preferably within 5 Star luxury hotels or resorts.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems and infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire & life safety systems. Highrise building maintenance experience is preferred.
- Requires knowledge of and the ability to operate computer equipment and various system application on the computers.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, promoting teamwork and achieving operational excellence.
- Strong experience in managing capital projects, renovations, and new construction projects.
- Proficiency in managing departmental budgets and controlling costs while maintaining high-quality services.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities to engage with guests, staff, and stakeholders effectively. Must be fluent in English and ability to communicate in Arabic is preferred however not mandatory.
- A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, ability to work weekends and holidays.
