Process Commissioning Engineer Location: Kilkenny Duration: Permanent Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm Overview of the Role: Reporting to the Process Commissioning Lead. The successful candidate will work as a Process Commissioning Engineer for the Commissioning of Water Treatment equipment at Municipal and Industrial levels in terms of drinking water, wastewater or process. Day to Day of the Role: Manage multiple projects simultaneously in: Coagulation, Flocculation, Clarification process, filtration, UV disinfection, chlorine disinfection, conventional activated sludge, SBR's etc. Decide on treatment process design and recommend solutions to engineering problems. Handle various chemicals Handle high-pressure systems and work in a safe manner during the commissioning and testing phase. Carry out instrumentation analysis and calibrations. Carry out laboratory analysis, including TSS, Turbidity, pH, UVT analysis using Hach spectrophotometer. Carry out Jar testing, and propose and adjust chemical dose rates to optimise the process for successful performance testing. Handle sludge treatment methods, technologies, and processes. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain air compressors, sludge pumps, and chemical pumps of various types. Commission pneumatic systems and setting up various types of control valves and flow meters. Capture data, using various tools, and develop dashboards for easy data analysis to follow processes for various clients. Write standard operating procedures, manuals, and training documents, and be able to train the client. Carry out quality control reviews of design documents, functional descriptions, and control philosophies. Lead kickoff meetings while on site with customers, and managers, to align the project plan and sales commitments. Verify the site layout to ensure it is compatible with as-built drawings. Prepare for commissioning activities in short duration's, by reviewing the contracts, carrying out Commissioning management plan meetings, and explaining how the activities will be carried out. Preparing essential documentation such as commissioning protocols, checklists, ISO sheets, etc. Able to work independently and follow instructions and provide updates, feedback to the direct manager in a timely manner. Skills required for the role: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent (Required) Master's degree in water treatment or equivalent experience (Desirable) Minimum of 2 years of field or applied research laboratory experience in chemical process Good understanding of water treatment and wastewater treatment processes such as MBR, MBBR, Actiflo, Filters, and pretreatment, for various applications such as municipal, industrial, and mine treatment facilities; Proficient with PLC and SCADA systems; Worksite experience: has good practical knowledge in electricity, mechanics, hydraulics and control or likes to develop it; Training and experience in working at height, and in confined spaces using permit and LOTO systems. Customer focused in difficult situations and with clients Good analytical skills and the ability to make decisions under stress or specific working conditions Focused on solving technical problems using knowledge, common sense, imagination and creativity to solve them; Respects deadlines and costs; Able to work independently and follow instructions and provide updates, feedback to the direct manager in a timely manner.
