The Company This leading Australian business is currently seeking to recruit a senior operations leader into the organisation to lead and improve its operations nationally (currently in VIC, NSW, QLD & WA). This is a business-critical role, reporting to the CEO, and part of the executive leadership team, responsible for Operations across 4 states within Australia and includes approx. 60 people across the function. The Role This person will develop and transform a best-in-class operation specifically focused on leadership and development of personnel, service delivery which includes managing all operations including the contractor fleet, customer service levels, safety and leading the strategy for growth. This role is critical to the organisation and the national operations team as it strives to provide optimal service to customers in the most efficient manner. Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead Operations across 4 states (currently 8 sites with plans to expand over the next 4 years) in Australia to meet key metrics in the operations including service levels, cost, safety, contract management and continuous improvement.
- Deliver excellence in customer service through coordination of end to end activities across the national operation.
- Review and implement a structure to enable the operations and customer service strategy.
- Ensure the contractor relationship is focused on standard policies and procedure, service levels and safety with a positive commercial outcome.
- Review and implement an efficient operations strategy which will include optimising sites, develop clear objectives and metrics, assessing operations performance, reviewing contractor performance to ensure efficiencies are met.
- Develop and maintain productive, customer-oriented relationships with internal stakeholders (inc business development, finance, HR, suppliers, etc).
- Implementation of current and future key strategic projects relating to operations, including reviewing structure, capability, utilising resources and setting clear objectives.
- Build and develop a strategic plan (2-3 years) based on people and process capability, customers, continuous improvement and engagement, that will deliver significant growth opportunities and efficiencies across the business.
- Report performance on a fortnightly and monthly basis.
- Effective use of project management disciplines and tools when delivering transformation and change.
- Ideally tertiary qualified.
- Senior leadership background, able to think strategically and deliver through people and process.
- Need to have extensive experience in operations, with a major focus on asset management and logistics.
- Must be able to manage a large contractor team to ensure a standardised approach with a focus on quality, safety and service.
- Ideally have extensive experience managing a national operation with several locations.
- Commercially astute, they must be able to understand financial reports, manage a budget and make commercial decisions.
