Cost Controller

Enel Green Power is seeking a Cost Controller to join its Engineering & Construction team, based in Johannesburg.

What you will do:

1. Ensure the implementation of the Cost Control System, developing consolidated Cost Breakdown Structure according to the relevant procedure.
2. Review the procurement/accounting system adopted in EGP, and verifying the application of the CBS and cost traceability.
3. Issuance of Project Cost Control Procedure, Cost Coding Manual and Risk Management Plan for Project Control Manager’s verification.
4. Management of budgets and work schedule activities.
5. Monitor activity progress and the relevant earned value, as well as the value of work done against the invoices received, determining the monthly accruals.
6. Support the Project during the contract changes/claims process, providing the cost impact analysis, and keep updated the cost/revenues forecast relevant to intercompany services.
7. Analyze committed costs and activities to-date, review the estimate to complete, isolating any deviation from baselines or adverse trend and warn the PM on time to take corrective actions in order to prevent overruns.

Who you are:

1. BSc in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil) with cost Engineering related training or Management Science.
2. A minimum of 5 years Budgets/Cost Control and management experience in an Engineering firm or a reputable construction firm.
3. Good working knowledge of SAP.
4. Knowledge of principles, methodology, practices of research and data collection.
5. Expert use of MS Excel; intermediate proficiency with Word, PowerPoint.
6. Experience of writing reports and communicating with project members of all levels.
