Roles and ResponsibilitiesAn opportunity has arisen for a Waiter/ess to join Cala Vista Restaurant at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:Greet guests with a warm welcome and smile. Escort them to their tables. Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu.Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable.Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired.Inform guests of daily specials or special items/promotions not listed on the menu.Check customer's identification to ensure they meet alcohol legal age requirements as per local law.Offer food and wine suggestions. Take food and beverage orders accurately including any special requests. Inform Kitchen as per the request.Input the order into PO System, if needed.Work with bartenders to fill beverage orders. Work with kitchen staff to process and expedite food orders.Deliver and serve food at tables. Use established food handling and serving techniques as per Jumeirah standards.The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:Proficient in spoken business English.Effective communication skills with all levels of colleagues and management.Minimum 1 year experience in a 5* luxury hotel.Capable of working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.Desired Candidate ProfileTaking Orders: Greet guests, present menus, and take food and drink orders accurately.Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver food and drinks to tables, ensuring that orders are correct and presented well.Customer Service: Attend to guest needs throughout their dining experience, providing recommendations and answering questions about the menu.Table Maintenance: Keep tables clean and tidy, clearing away used dishes and utensils promptly.Communication: Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.Handling Payments: Present bills to guests, process payments, and ensure accurate change is given.Upselling: Promote menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.Adhering to Standards: Follow health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation practices.Managing Reservations: Assist with managing reservations and seating arrangements during busy periods.Providing Feedback: Gather feedback from guests regarding their experience and report any issues to management.Key SkillsInterpersonal Skills: Strong ability to interact positively with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for taking orders and collaborating with team members.Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in orders and the presentation of food and drinks.Problem-Solving: Ability to address guest concerns and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
