Our interdisciplinary team of researchers works on cutting-edge projects that have real-world impact across various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, 5G, Optical Communication, Artificial Intelligence and more.Announcement:We are excited to announce an interesting opportunity to join our dynamic and innovative team at the Smart Systems Engineering Lab at PSU. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our funded project specializing in Smart Cities and Internet of Things technologies. The successful candidate will join our dynamic research team to work on cutting-edge projects aimed at enhancing the integration and functionality of smart city systems. The focus will be on hardware-oriented solutions and the application of advanced wireless communication tools such as Opnet, GNS, NS3, and others.Responsibilities:Conduct advanced research in the field of Smart Cities and IoT, focusing on hardware implementation and optimization.Design, develop, and deploy IoT solutions for smart city applications, ensuring robust and scalable architectures.Utilize wireless communication tools such as Opnet, GNS, NS3, and others to simulate, analyze, and evaluate the performance of IoT and Adhoc networks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT solutions and Adhoc networks with other smart city infrastructure components.Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss research progress and potential collaborations.Publish research findings in reputable journals and conferences.Mentor and supervise junior researchers and graduate students.Contribute to grant proposal writing and project management.Qualifications:A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Strong background in hardware-oriented research and development.Proficiency in using wireless communication simulation tools such as Opnet, GNS, NS3, etc.Demonstrated experience in handling and integrating Adhoc networks, IoT and smart cities.Excellent programming skills in languages commonly used for IoT development (e.g., Python and C/C++).A strong publication record in relevant fields.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.Strong communication and presentation skills.Prior experience with grant writing, project execution and management.Application Procedure:Interested candidates should ensure the availability of the following document, and they should submit their application materials through this application formA cover letter detailing your research interests and relevant experience.Curriculum Vitae (CV), including a list of publications.Provide a summary of your previous grant writing and project management experience.Provide a brief of your previous real hands-on research works and technical skills.Competitive salary and benefits package.Collaborative and stimulating research environment.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply and join our vibrant research community.
