From A-list celebrities, White House insiders, to everyday power couples, our experience ensures our clients' Love Party is as unique as them + their partnership.Plus, we give back to local nonprofits through each event so the party keeps going long after the disco ball turns for the last time on the dance floor. Founded in NYC, our team plans Love Parties across the US.What You'll DoModern Rebel is looking for a Director of Events to drive our sales efforts and oversee our roster of Love Parties. In this role, you will work with our Modern Rebel clients from start to finish, overseeing the sales, planning + design process. Wedding planning + design experience are required and the ideal candidate is excited to carve out alternative, safe, unique spaces in the wedding industry + beyond, not simply do things the way they've always been done.This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced wedding pro eager to work with a rapidly growing national event planning company. Ideal start date for this position is August 15, 2024.The Director of Events reports to the CEO and is responsible for the following:Execute events from start to finish in alignment with Modern Rebel's unique and inclusive philosophy.Driving Sales EffortsCollaborate and strategize with the Community + Operations Manager on sales leads.Conduct discovery calls with potential Modern Rebel clients + follow-up as needed in order to finalize bookings.Report monthly on goals + more frequently on more immediate tasks in support of internal workflows and analytics.Champion the BrandAttend industry events and spread the word about Modern Rebel's services, mission, vision, + values.Connect and build relationships with local venues and vendors to grow Modern Rebel's industry network of values aligned vendors.Support and collaborate with the Modern Rebel team, as needed.What You'll BringA strong belief in and commitment to Modern Rebel's values and the importance of relationship health.Effective, clear, and kind communication skills, both written + verbal.Strong collaboration skills - can work well with navigating various stakeholders and teams.Excellent time management skills, organizational practices, and adaptability to stay on top of a demanding workload for varied and intricate events.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to troubleshoot with confidence and quickly find solutions with a level-headed approach.An excitement for taking initiative and learning new skills.A passion for speaking about Modern Rebel's unique approach and premium customer service to potential clients and industry partners.RequirementsMinimum 5 years working in event planning + event design.Minimum 3 years of wedding planning experience.Strong knowledge of the New York City events industry.Experience with Canva, Trello, Google Suite, Slack, and Prismm (formerly AllSeated).Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.High school diploma or equivalent.Weekend availability for on-site events (at least 12-15 weekends per year) and flex daytime hours, 9am-5:30pm Monday -Thursday and 9am-1pm on Fridays.
