Shift : 7 PM - 4 AM Job Summary: The L2 _Linux System Engineer will take on more complex administrative and troubleshooting tasks, working independently on system maintenance, network configurations, and assisting in performance tuning. This role supports L1 administrators and collaborates on system improvement projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and Red Hat
- Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.
- Complete understanding of the Cron-Jobs and their functionality.
- Knowledge of file systems, including LVM and standard partitioning.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure system security.
- Implementing policies for password strength and expiration
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues
- Document procedures, incidents, and resolution steps for future reference.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency with Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu), and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, firewalls, and basic cloud computing concepts.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
