RPO Recruitment's client, a top tier global hardware, software and information security company, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for assisting in overseeing financial and accounting operations, ensuring financial integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance while providing key financial insights to support decision-making.Responsibilities:Overview Support financial decision-making by collecting, analysing, investigating, and reporting financial data. Streamline and automate possible month-end financial reporting procedures to ensure accurate reports are produced timeously. Implement processes and controls to assist with improving the internal financial control environment. Maintenance of the general ledgers and trial balances according to IFRS and accounting standards. Assist with technical support and computations for all complex accounting transactions and events when they arise. Monthly Reporting Perform appropriate general ledger reconciliations for all accounts within the trial balance. Compare actual performance to budget and prior year and obtain reasons for anomalies. Preparation of Flash reporting and monthly management packs within month-end deadlines for Board members to gain an understanding of business performance. Review bi-weekly cashflows and assist with managing the company's cash flow. Accounting for inter-company transactions and ensuring these are balanced monthly. Cash & Risk Management Review, approve, and release local and foreign payments. Review and sign off on monthly creditor reconciliations. Monitor loans with the Group to ensure no idle cash in accounts for optimal interest earned or paid. Taxation Completion of half-year and annual consolidated income tax computations and packs. Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns with supporting schedules. Prepare tax deliverables, including SARS audit documentation, and address queries, and objections. Adhere to Group reporting on tax matters. Annual Audits Assist in managing and coordinating the annual financial audit. Preparation of supporting schedules for the compilation of annual financial statements. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely and successful completion of the external audit process. Manage Personal Development Attend training scheduled per the development plan, demonstrating skills and knowledge acquired. Ensure compliance with all regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry financial regulations. Use initiative to research relevant information to keep abreast with changes and new developments in the field. Exhibit a commitment to learning from others within the team. Requirements Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or similar Honours in Accounting or similar Articles in an accounting firm would be advantageous Professional Membership registration: SAICA, CIMA, or similar 3 - 5 years experience in the same or similar role Broad knowledge of accounting practices and process Must be able to stay calm when under pressure and in stressful situations Performance and deadline-oriented Strong financial and business acumen Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across various stakeholders Must have the ability to multi-task Strong planning and organising skills Ability to take own initiative and solve problems Administrative management experience, with responsibility for maintaining records Team-orientated and collaborative Conscientious with a strong work ethic A positive attitude Assertiveness Ability to adapt to change quickly and easily A critical analytical thinker Reliable transport This is an office-based position in the Woodmead Branch BenefitsR600K- R720K per annumRPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
