Registered Nurse - Anesthetics

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
Helping anesthetist with various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia depth, and overall physiological status during surgical procedures.
Manage patients' airways and ventilatory support as needed, ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation.
Assist with the positioning of patients for surgery and ensure proper preparation and draping of surgical sites.
Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring patients' recovery from anesthesia, managing pain, and addressing any post-operative complications.
Collaborate with surgeons, operating room staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience for patients.
Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia care provided, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and patient assessments.
Strong knowledge of anesthesia principles, techniques, and pharmacology.
Proficiency in monitoring equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Key Generic Accountabilities:
Comply with the approved relevant departmental policies, processes and standard operating procedures in order to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a high quality and cost-effective service.
Contribute in cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce wastage and unnecessary expense.
Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSSE management procedures and controls across the department so that AZF provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.
Motivate team members and contribute to the identification of opportunities to take part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment.
Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in anesthesia nursing.
Strong knowledge of anesthesia principles, techniques, and pharmacology.
Proficiency in monitoring equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
Excellent critical thinking assessment, and communication skills.
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
ACLS or ALS or equivalent.
IT skills.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
