About the roleThe role will be responsible for following up on the litigation portfolio and liaising with external counsel. Provide accurate assessments of cases that cover various jurisdictions. Provide accurate legal advice to Qatar Airways and its subsidiaries. Act as the Group Legal point of contact for the User department and update on litigation proceedings.Some of the tasks include:Ensure a prompt follow-up of the litigation portfolio and communicate frequently with external counsels - Lawyers.Review Court memos, submissions, and all related files to adequately defend Company rights.Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal court precedents.Work closely with Company department leaders and become their trusted legal advisor.Develop and implement suggestions for court case trackers.Provide high-quality review, analysis, and active participation within the Legal department.Identify issues and determine when the escalation procedure should be initiated.Resolve any disputes that arise and identify areas for improvement in the company's policies.QualificationsAbout youBachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of litigation experience.Must be a qualified and bilingual lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction (preferably in the MENA region).Must have work experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment in Qatar or the MENA region.Excellent Arabic drafting skills are a must.Ability to work in a team.Experience working in Qatar or the MENA region for an Airline, Cargo, or Shipping Company.Litigation management experience.Application GuidelinesEmployees must submit applications through the internal vacancies portal (via GEMS) only.Please see below for all eligibility and requirements for internal applications, and note that any applications not meeting the criteria will not be processed.All internal candidates can only have three active applications at any point in time.All internal candidates must have completed a minimum of 10 months in their current role to apply for a new role.All internal candidates with an active final warning letter will be automatically disqualified from the recruitment process.If you are a Deck Crew (Qatar Airways & Qatar Executive) candidate, you will require NOC to apply for this role.
