MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To present and facilitate Higher Education and Training programmes and courses to Mediclinic students and employees in order to acquire competence (incl. cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills) as independent healthcare practitioners on completion of training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  1. Ensure compliance to Higher Education & Training and American Heart Association (AHA) standards
  2. Design and assess learning material and interventions
  3. Facilitate learning process, incl. theoretical and clinical facilitation
  4. Coordinate and administrate student-related processes

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing, Masters Degree in Nursing, Post graduate Diploma in Nursing Education, Post Graduate Diploma in Peri-operative Nursing (Theatre) DESIRED EDUCATION: PhD in Nursing

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 years experience in a training capacity DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience within a Operating Room / Theatre environment

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Instructional Design (ADDIE model) and the application thereof
  • Demonstrate competence in compilation procedures
  • Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Mediclinic Training and Nursing Policies and Procedures
  • Group facilitation tools, techniques and best practices
  • Understanding of learning and development quality management
  • Blooms taxonomy of assessment and evaluation
  • Adult Learning Principles
  • Mentoring and coaching
  • Scholarly skills
  • Assessment and Moderation
  • Education, Training and other relevant healthcare related legislation and its application within Mediclinic training environment
