Icebolethu Group is currently in search of a Facilities Maintenance Officer who will be responsible for the care of our building and facilities maintenance management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Qualifications:
  • National Diploma or Degree in Civil/Construction/Electrical/Building related qualifications
Experience and Knowledge required:
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building and maintenance management.
  • Project management and planning skills.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and equipment maintenance skills are essential.
Skills and Competencies required:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • MS Office with solid Excel skills (intermediate)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and competing demands

Key Performance Areas

  • Keeps building plans and blue prints filed in proper order.
  • Maintains orders and picks up the appropriate supplies needed for repairs and renovations.
  • Requests, assembles and analyses contract bids.
  • Responds to emergency requests for facility and equipment repairs.
  • Oversees the allocation of parking in Head Office.
  • Tracks facility work projects both unfinished and completed.
  • Tracks facility repairs and utility costs with spreadsheets and graphs.
  • Evaluates and submits cost reduction ideas.
  • Oversees contractor repairs as needed.
  • Maintains proper records.
  • Maintains repair records and prepares related reports.
  • Creates project time lines and researches expected costs.
  • Performs equipment and facility repairs as needed.
  • Maintains offices and other related facilities.
  • Motivate for refurbishment and major repairs as and when appropriate.
  • Develop and implement effective planned maintenance programme.
  • Handling maintenance and construction projects.
  • Maintaining projects and compliance schedules including the Occupational Health and Safety and relevant by-laws and building regulations, such as re-zoning.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports.
  • Hands on.
