Icebolethu Group is currently in search of a Facilities Maintenance Officer who will be responsible for the care of our building and facilities maintenance management.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications:- National Diploma or Degree in Civil/Construction/Electrical/Building related qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building and maintenance management.
- Project management and planning skills.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and equipment maintenance skills are essential.
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
- MS Office with solid Excel skills (intermediate)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage changing priorities and competing demands
Key Performance Areas
- Keeps building plans and blue prints filed in proper order.
- Maintains orders and picks up the appropriate supplies needed for repairs and renovations.
- Requests, assembles and analyses contract bids.
- Responds to emergency requests for facility and equipment repairs.
- Oversees the allocation of parking in Head Office.
- Tracks facility work projects both unfinished and completed.
- Tracks facility repairs and utility costs with spreadsheets and graphs.
- Evaluates and submits cost reduction ideas.
- Oversees contractor repairs as needed.
- Maintains proper records.
- Maintains repair records and prepares related reports.
- Creates project time lines and researches expected costs.
- Performs equipment and facility repairs as needed.
- Maintains offices and other related facilities.
- Motivate for refurbishment and major repairs as and when appropriate.
- Develop and implement effective planned maintenance programme.
- Handling maintenance and construction projects.
- Maintaining projects and compliance schedules including the Occupational Health and Safety and relevant by-laws and building regulations, such as re-zoning.
- Coach and mentor direct reports.
- Hands on.
