Roles and ResponsibilitiesStudent Level:Middle School, High SchoolEligible Candidates:Licensed TeacherSchool Requirements:Education Required: BachelorMinimum Teaching Experience: 2 years of teaching experienceMajor: ScienceRequired Certificates: Teaching Credential/LicenseAdditional School Requirements:Qualifications:Teaching Credential/LicenseValid teacher certification for the subject and level you are being hired to teach.Candidates holding valid and relevant New York State Teaching certifications are preferred.2 years of recent professional work experience in the education field as Science in the US curriculum.Minimum of Bachelor's degree and ideally a Master's.Candidates must have experience teaching in a US district school offering the Common Core State Standards (New York State experience preferred).Fluent English speaker.Job Benefits:Tax-free salary paid on a scale linked to teaching experience up to 13,000 AED per month.Housing allowance paid quarterly to an employee for self.End of service gratuity.Joining and departing economy class flights to/from Dubai to the home of record for self.Annual flights from to home of record (Economy class) for self-taken once during annual leave.UAE medical insurance for self.2,000 AED settling-in allowance.2-year renewable contract with an option for renewal.Visa processing costs (excluding document certification) for self.Excellent career and leadership prospects.Positions of Additional Responsibility are available for suitable candidates wishing to take on greater roles within the school community.Desired Candidate ProfileSubject Expertise: Deep understanding of various scientific disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.Curriculum Development: Ability to design and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and foster critical thinking and inquiry.Laboratory Instruction: Proficiency in teaching laboratory techniques and safety protocols, facilitating hands-on experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.Assessment and Evaluation: Creating assessments to measure student understanding and using data to inform instructional strategies and interventions.Differentiation: Adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, including varying learning styles and abilities.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and engage students in discussions.Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to analyze data, conduct experiments, and solve real-world problems through scientific inquiry.Technology Integration: Utilizing educational technology and resources to enhance instruction and provide interactive learning experiences.Collaboration: Working with colleagues, administrators, and other staff to create a supportive educational environment and foster interdisciplinary learning.Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with advancements in science education and curriculum trends.
