Montessori Care is a registered NDIS service provider of in-home aged care and disability supports.We are currently seeking enthusiastic Psychologist to join our diverse team in Greater Sydney NSW. As a psychologist, your primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and support services to neurodiverse children and/or adults, to people with disabilities and their caregivers. You will address a range of psychological concerns, including mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, behavioural challenges, and adjustment issues. Your role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, developing personalised care plans, and promoting psychological well-being and quality of life for clients in diverse care settings.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough assessments of clients' cognitive functioning, emotional well-being, and psychosocial needs using standardised evaluation tools and clinical interviews.Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling services to individuals and families.Assess and address challenging behaviours, agitation, aggression, or disruptive conduct exhibited by clients with disabilities or cognitive impairments.Offer emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping skills training to clients and caregivers facing the challenges of disability and other life issues.Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care plans.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.Full registration or endorsement as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.Current AHPRA Registration as a PsychologistExperience working with individuals with disabilities, older adults, and/or caregivers in NDIS, home care, or aged care settings.Strong assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning skills.Proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapy modalities, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), or dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, and ethical practice.Working ConditionsWork may be conducted in various settings.Flexible scheduling may be required to accommodate client appointments, including occasional evening or weekend sessions.Travel may be necessary to conduct home visits or attend meetings at multiple locations within a designated service area. 30 April 2024Summer Hill New South Wales, AustraliaCasual/VacationCommunity Services & DevelopmentAged & Disability Support
