General Counsel - Asset Management

Ashford Benjamin are instructed on a senior strategic hire with a regional asset manager with over US$100bn AUM. This is a General Counsel position covering the whole of Asia and managing a team of lawyers on the ground in Singapore. The expectations are this hire will come onboard, spearhead the legal team and build relationships with senior business stakeholders. As well as legal work, this hire will oversee the corporate governance and comsec infrastructure and be seen as a strategic advisor to the Exco and senior leadership team.
Candidates should be:
- 15+ PQE, trained at a strong law firm and currently at an international financial institution
- Prior regional Asset Management experience is strongly preferred. However, strong candidates coming from other types of financial institutions will be considered
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership and able to build relationships with senior stakeholders
