Job Description

We are looking to hire Drilling Fluid Specialists to join Petrochem Performance Chemicals in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Petrochem Performance Chemicals (PPC), a company of Mazrui Energy Services, specializes in drilling fluids and associated equipment services. Our geographical territory covers the Middle East and Caspian with current operations in the UAE, Northern Iraq, Kuwait, and Yemen.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience working on onshore/offshore drilling rigs using a variety of water-based and oil/synthetic-based drilling, workover, and completion fluids, solids control, and waste management applications. You will be expected to be conversant with all aspects related to executing, reporting, and planning the drilling fluids package.

Directly involved in EOW reports, pre/post-well analysis, and making recommendations for improvements on future wells.

Must have experience in international locations working for international mud company standards.

Responsible for daily mud running specifications, fulfilling all activities associated with the operation, including but not limited to:

Testing

Logistics

Inventory control

Communication with Drilling Representative, drilling contractors, Mud loggers, and other well services members.

Maintain drilling-completion fluid performance based on customer operational program, providing technical and operational support referenced to any drilling fluids products utilized (water or oil-based mud).

Ensure good condition and optimal products inventory level at the rig site.

Responsible for mud lab equipment functionality, including inventory and maintenance.

Complete daily following detailed operational consistency and progress to ensure a smooth billing process.

Manage, interpret, and report Engineering software tools and daily drilling reports as appropriate.

Prepare, maintain, and condition any drilling and completion fluid systems effectively and efficiently, following well program requirements.

Use appropriate laboratory equipment to report fluid properties, performing at least every 15 days lab equipment verification, calibration, and cleaning while in the field.

Responsible for formulating and preparing drilling fluid systems, maintaining fluid parameters, and mitigating drilling problems.

Maintain high levels of communication with our customer and P.E's regarding drilling fluid conditions, properties, and recommended treatments based on expected well conditions.

Keep daily well cost records and check current well cost control according to drilling fluid proposal.

Document problems encountered, assess, and mitigate drilling fluid-related issues through technical solutions and recommendations.

Complete all mud reports required in a timely manner, such as daily fluid properties, inventory, volume and concentrations, solids control equipment, and EOWR.

Monitor drilling fluid displacement during cement jobs to ensure theoretical fluid volume is displaced and recovered.

Maintain the quality, environmental, and QH&S management systems.

Communicate the importance of fulfilling customer, legal, and regulatory compliance requirements through periodic communication meetings.

Provide accountability and governance to all activities related to the lifecycle of our processes and products.

Ensure that corporate policies are understood, implemented, and maintained.

Responsible for the quality of Petrochem Performance Chemicals LLC products and services.

Accept the legal and moral obligations to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, a safe and healthy working environment.

Participate in the sustainability program.

Qualifications

Preferably a bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or minimum equivalent Technical Science qualification with sufficient field senior experience, relevant DF training, and competency.

Professional Experience

5-8 years' experience as a Drilling Fluid Specialist.

Expertise in Chemistry, Drilling Fluid/Completion fluid, Drilling Waste Management, and Solid Control.

Completed mud school or passed PPC equivalency mud school exam.
