Division: Independent Public School - Wheatbelt Education Region Salary: Teacher, $82,317 - $119,246 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) This is a 12 month fixed term full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency The FTE for this position is negotiable. Northam Senior High School (SHS) has a proud and rich history of providing a comprehensive curriculum to the Northam and surrounding Wheatbelt districts. With over 600 students, we are the largest school in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. The successful applicants will be highly motivated; student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. They will utilise innovative initiatives and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This will involve reflecting and assessing the effectiveness of teaching practices and cultivating a safe learning environment. This extends to utilising evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in teaching across some of the Home Economics suite of courses from lower school Foods, Textiles, Hospitality and Child Development to senior courses of Materials Design and Technology – Textiles, Food Science Technology and Children, Family and Community. Northam SHS also encompasses a state-of-the-art Hospitality Trade Training Centre which opened in 2012. It is desirable that the successful applicant will have industry experience and/or qualification in this area. Applicants open to undertaking Certificate IV Training and Assessment or Certificate II in Hospitality are encouraged to apply. In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered.
