Assistant Finance Manager - Group Reporting

As Assistant Finance Manager (Group Reporting), you will oversee financial reporting and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance, manage the preparation of consolidated financial statements and statutory reports, and guarantee adherence to accounting and regulatory standards. You will need to demonstrate exceptional analytical and communication skills across a diverse range of stakeholders. What you will do:
  • Review subsidiaries’ financial reports, perform monthly variance analysis and provide commentary on the financial performance.
  • Prepare monthly sub-group consolidated financial statements accurately, timely and in compliance with group reporting requirements and the applicable accounting standards.
  • Involve in the preparation of Group consolidated financial statements and perform analytical review.
  • Involve in the preparation and review of subsidiaries’ statutory accounts/report and Group Annual Report (including notes to financial statements), to ensure compliance with stock exchange rules and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Involve in the preparation and review of Board meeting papers.
  • Responsible to monitor and track Group investments’ performance and share price.
  • Support corporate assignments covering merger and acquisition/divestment in finance related area, and involve in analysing valuation and returns of potential investments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, corporate guidelines and other regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and other governing authorities pertaining to statutory requirements.
  • Communicate and work closely with Finance team to ensure effective day-to-day operation of overall accounting and financial functions.
  • Formulate and enforce continuous improvement on financial and operations internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Participate and undertake ad-hoc assignments or restructuring of portfolio as directed by the management from time to time.
What you will need:
  • Possess recognized degree or professional qualification in Accountancy and/or member of MIA.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant working experience (experience as auditors is a must). Exposures in listed Company or Big 4 accounting firm will be an advantage.
  • Competent in accounting/tax technicalities and abreast with current accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (mid to advanced level).
  • Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an added advantage.
  • Analytical and meticulous for details, possess high integrity and able to work independently to meet tight timelines.
  • A committed team player with good personality, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to accept or provide feedback and strive for improvement.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas.
  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
