Our EQ Bank platform (eqbank.ca) has been named the top Schedule I Bank in Canada on the Forbes World's Best Banks 2023, 2022, and 2021 lists.The WorkThe Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of brand-aligned marketing and communications plans that support the Bank's strategy and Commercial Banking's business goals. The role creates, executes and leads external marketing and communications that promote, enhance, and protect the Bank's brand and reputation. The Senior Marketing Manager, Commercial Banking works closely with the Bank's Marketing leaders to ensure alignment and to keep apprised of industry trends, innovation, and new ways of thinking. The role collaborates with Bank executives, business unit leaders, and the origination teams that are responsible for developing and managing broker, partner, and direct client relationships that support the growth of Commercial Banking through customer acquisition and retention.The core parts of your role would be to:In collaboration with Commercial Banking leaders, develop and execute marketing strategies for the Commercial Banking business lines under Equitable Bank, Concentra Trust, Bennington Financial, and ACM Advisors.Build and deliver content strategies for marketing to brokers, partners, credit unions, and centres of influence (COIs).Collaborate with the Bank's Communications team to develop a divisional communications plan for the Group Head of Commercial Banking.Enhance the profile of the key Commercial Banking business leaders through social media, industry events, and advertising.Use research, data, and analytics to inform and measure marketing strategies and tactics.Collaborate with the Creative Services team to develop marketing collateral for the Commercial Banking business lines.Coordinate content calendar with the social media and other business unit teams as required.Manage the annual Empowering Your Community grant program with credit unions.Provide support to Commercial Banking leaders for external presentations.Review marketing invoices and submit expense claims for approval by the Managing Director, Commercial Originations (BES) or the VP Trust and Credit Union Services.Let's Talk About You!Undergraduate degree or diploma in Marketing or an equivalent combination of experience and formal education.A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in developing and executing Business to Business (B2B) marketing strategies that drive meaningful outcomes in support of business goals.Marketing experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset.Keen observer of the economic environment, industry trends, and current affairs as they may relate to the organization and our marketing strategies.Proven track record in managing and delivering on multiple projects and initiatives with demonstrated strengths in time management, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.Ability to establish a budget for marketing and communications strategies and tactics, and to stay on budget throughout a project.Sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills.Demonstrated initiative and agility to take on additional responsibilities as they arise without supervision.Experience in leveraging research, data, and analytics to inform strategy and decisions with attention to detail.Sophisticated and persuasive written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Experience with digital and social media campaigns.Track record of developing effective internal communications that have a positive impact on employee engagement.Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with senior management and employees at all levels.AccountabilityThe role reports directly to the Managing Director, Commercial Originations (BES) with responsibility to the VP Trust and Credit Union Services, other Commercial Banking leaders, and the Director, Business Marketing for Personal Banking.Responsible for making decisions independently on external marketing and communications while consulting with executives and the legal and compliance teams as needed.The role is responsible for campaign creation, execution, and leadership.The role requires interaction with external vendors, suppliers, and partners, and may require contact with other financial institutions and regulators.The Senior Manager is responsible for negotiating with vendors and suppliers as needed for advertising pieces in digital and print media.The role is responsible for reviewing and recommending payment of invoices and expenses but does not manage a large budget of its own.Decisions made in this role do not materially affect Bank finances but may affect the reputation of the Bank.Job Complexities / Thinking ChallengesThe role involves making independent decisions about external marketing and communications with careful strategic thinking as decisions have a significant impact on the Bank's reputation.The role will take on a leadership role with regard to creating, executing, and leading the Commercial marketing plan and thus supporting the strategic direction the BU takes to go-to-market.The incumbent must be able to handle crises or issues impacting the Bank.The role may be required to provide communications support to the ESG team while always maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.Creating and maintaining strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders who have an
