Junior Instructional Designer (Fixed Term Contract)

Description We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Junior Instructional Designer. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow into the instructional design space while contributing to the development and delivery of innovative learning solutions. The role includes the following responsibilities: The chosen candidate will take charge of all creative requirements. Maintain project documentation and course folders throughout the course lifecycle. Regularly update course material on Learning Management Systems in alignment with project releases and enhancements. Conduct pilots (testing) of developed/adapted learning material prior to formal implementation. Design and develop learner guides for various training programs, courses, and workshops. Collaborate with the Instructional Designer to design and/or adapt new or existing learning material to support workplace competence/needs analysis and learning strategy. Analyse and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and graphic design. Follow up with respective individuals regarding outstanding training requirements. Update the learning and development event calendar/schedule to ensure adherence to compliance and organisational learning requirements. Create engaging exercises and activities using authoring tools to enhance the learning process, including audio, video, simulations, digital assets, and gamification learning methodologies. Update internal learning site with the latest learning content, newsflash emails, and learning statistics to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. Update and maintain process documentation and or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Qualifications and Experience required: Diploma or equivalent (NQF 6) in Graphic Design, Instructional Design, Education, or related field. Strong proficiency in Graphic Design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite/Indesign/Illustrator/Photoshop). Preferably, but not mandatory, familiarity with Instructional Design principles and methodology (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) is required. Proficient in video editing and animation (E.g. Adobe After Effects). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficient in Microsoft Suit (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). 1 -3 years prior experience in Graphic Design.
