AMCA is looking for a Data Entry Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or another senior data team member. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory.Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.Type and transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners.Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output.Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents.Apply data program techniques and procedures.Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations and perform backup operations.Scan documents and print files, when needed.Keep information confidential.Respond to queries for information and access relevant files.Comply with data integrity and security policies.Ensure proper use of office equipment and address any malfunctions.Qualifications:Proven experience as Data Entry ClerkFast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferredExcellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devicesBasic understanding of databasesGood command of English both oral and written and customer service skillsGreat attention to detailHigh school diploma or additional computer training or certification will be an asset.
