RoleOur mission is to brew proteins on a planetary scale, outperforming legacy animal proteins on taste, functionality, nutrition and cost. We are ultimately constrained by how fast and efficiently we can scale our protein breweries. The The Head of FOAK has deep expertise in engineering and scaling infrastructure and is laser focused on getting the breweries built. This role requires close cooperation with our CEO and CSO on strategy and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build the first of a kind (FOAK) breweryHelp to bring the fermentation and downstream processes to scaleBuild out the engineering team, hand pick the best people in the world to build the FOAKWork closely with the CEO in scaling the company from 10 (current headcount) to hundreds of peopleRequirementsProven experience in leading the build-out of a (FOAK) factoryStrong background in manufacturing (preferably in the food / biotech space)Proven experience in leading and managing peopleFirst principles thinker, who is obsessed with lowering the Lang factor while improving (energetic) efficienciesSeek out risks to do novel things while knowing the limits of how far they can goKnows how to model operations within a factoryKnows how to optimise for speed and costsExcited by our mission of revolutionising protein productionCapable of mastering complex processes like fermentation, downstream and food application quicklyBonus requirementsExperience in scaling startupsExperience with regulatory, food safety and product quality requirementsBasic understanding of financing a large-scale factoryWhat we offerMarket rate salary + equity packageBecome part of the leadership teamWork together with driven, ambitious people on building the protein production platform of the futureWe're based in one of the nicest cities in the world - we cycle to work every dayWe have daily plant based lunches and an unlimited supply of snacks and fresh fruits
