IntroductionAga Khan University (AKU), chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. Reporting to the Vice Provost, Students (VP Students), the Senior Manager will be responsible for a critical administrative role in ensuring that AKU meets its strategic objective of providing all AKU students with a holistic educational experience. The role supports the expansion of student engagement across all campuses and geographies. S/he will be a key member of the Office of the VP Students, as they will provide oversight and support for student affairs staff, and will also support the VP Students, to ensure that all strategic operations, resources, events and activities are applied in an equitable manner. ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
partner with student affairs staff across all geographies, to identify strategic areas of growth and development
oversee the development of centralized communication channels for all student affairs related functions, to increase student engagement and accessibility
collaborate with the University Advancement Office, to identify and generate sources of revenue via sponsorships
support the VP Students in the creation and implementation of all departmental strategies
manage the process, budget, and data collection for the Provost Experiential Learning Fund, to identify and evaluate trends, outreach efforts and program efficiency
collaborate with the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to help student affairs staff further develop and assess student activities and programs that appeal to the needs of AKU's diverse student body
support the VP Students in collaborating with the college deans, to further develop co-curricular programs with potential linkages to the curriculum
liaise with the VP Students and the Chief Facilities and Administration Officer, to address student utilization and facility related concerns
support the VP Students in the evaluation and management of student housing across all geographies, to address occupancy concerns, student needs, health and safety, and the development of living and learning communities
assist with the Student Code of Conduct and Disciplinary policies and procedures, to foster a culture of care and accountability.
RequirementsYou must have:
a minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Student Affairs Administration, Business Administration, or other related discipline
a minimum of four to six years of relevant experience in a related field
a strong record of leadership in managing and supporting professional and support staff
broad knowledge of student activities, rights and responsibilities, and local and national laws which may impact students
experience with data collection and analysis, for budgetary management and departmental decision making
demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff
willingness and ability to travel to other AKU campuses, as needed
ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects, to meet critical deadlines and be available in such circumstances
excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a broad range of interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
