We prioritize our employees' well-being and foster a workplace that values collaboration, diversity, growth, and efficiency.We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Quality & Environment Director based in Dubai - UAE, who will manage and continuously improve the Safety, Quality, and Environment performance across the KMTA region. S/he enables KONE to build Quality into our processes and develop a proactive Quality culture and mindset through increased competencies, collaboration, communication, and best business practice sharing. Responsible for identifying local applicable environmental regulations, business development opportunities, and risks while interacting with business lines and functions, ensuring environmental compliance and conformance to business strategies and ISO 14001 Management System.Responsibilities and key activities:Safety policy and objectivesImplement, maintain, and enhance the KONE safety management system, covering worker, user, and third-party safety.Set safety objectives and define roles and responsibilities.Demonstrate leadership and foster a culture of care and accountability for safety.Provide expert support, drive management commitment, and encourage worker participation.Manage and develop unit safety committees and forums.Participate in global safety team meetings and contribute to safety documentation and usage.Initiate safety improvement programs and collaborate with customers and partners.Support the development and execution of crisis and emergency response plans.Safety risk managementEnsure the use of and continually improve safety risk management processes, tools, and practices.Support or lead safety-related change management projects and initiatives.Safety assuranceProduce safety data, ensure accuracy, and develop indicators. Evaluate and report performance.Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and initiate actions.Perform and manage safety audits to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations.Assist line management in safety audits/visits and continually improve the auditing process.Set safety targets, goals, and plans with unit leadership and global safety function.Develop annual safety budget in line with global budgeting guidelines.Manage incident investigations and continually improve the investigation process.Drive corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement of safety.Safety promotionMaintain and develop one's competencies and the safety team.Ensure the development and maintenance of safety competencies in the unit.Establish, maintain, and improve safety communication processes, programs, and materials.Represent KONE to external stakeholders in safety matters under the direction of the unit head.Quality managementPromotes, Unit/function management, recognition, and conformance to customer and KONE requirements.Collaborates with KONE Way process owners / operating model owners and change managers to ensure the continual improvement and implementation of KONE Way in his/her area.Assures that functional and operational leaders and teams globally and locally analyze, develop, and execute continuous quality improvements based on performance data and proactively gather and analyze other relevant data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.Drives the annual quality budget planning and other quality-related target setting in his/her organization in line with global targets.Continual improvementDrives progress and monitors the effectiveness of continuous improvement projects, and corrective and preventative actions which are being logged within the organization and provide direction and support where needed.Drives continuous reduction of Cost of Poor Quality.Contributes to the development of the Management System (QEHS), monitors its performance, and combines its management with other management systems, such as environment and safety.Responsible for planning, execution, and follow-up of audits as a tool for assuring process compliance and identifying areas for process performance and improvement.Leads and supports any required corrective actions required due to non-conformance.Ensures that, in his/her area of responsibility, the management practices are in place as defined in the Continual improvement policy e.g., operations reviews, QIT meetings, development portfolio reviews, etc.Environmental managementHe/She is responsible for implementing local and global environmental strategies and setting long-term unit-level environmental KPIs in line with business strategies and unit management.Lead and coordinate the unit's improvement activities and development programs related to environmental, climate, or sustainability matters.Create environmental action plans in the unit with objectives and KPIs, evidence of the performance, and continuous improvement relevant to environmental requirements.Collaborate with sourcing, business lines, facility management, and other relevant functions to meet the unit's long- and short-term environmental goals.Ensure environmental legal compliance in the unit together with local sourcing relevant to KONE solutions and operations.Are you the one?Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.Fluency in English; knowledge of an additional language is a plus.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Experience in safety management systems, tools, and certifications.Certifications: ISO 9001, 45001, & 14001 Lead Auditor.Professional health and safety qualifications are an asset.Proficient in problem-solving, incident management, auditing, and analysis.This is a great opportunity for someone with the leadership skills to drive KONE's commitment to safety, quality, and environmental excellence in the KMTA region.
