Group Finance is looking for a Global Head of Policies & Procedures with a strong financial background and a desire to work in a dynamic and internationally oriented finance team at our CEDAR head office in Amsterdam.Your role & work environment:Group Finance is the corporate staff department responsible for ING Group's accounting and regulatory policies, external reporting, internal controls over financial reporting and financial planning & advice at ING Group level.Altogether approximately 120 colleagues are working within Group Finance of which around 32 colleagues under the responsibility of our Global Head of Policies & Procedures.Your key ResponsibilitiesThe Global Head of Policies & Procedures is globally responsible for setting compliant IFRS, regulatory policies and control requirements for ING's external reporting. The Global Head of Policies & Procedures leads 4 teams of experts to monitor (inter)national developments with regards to financial reporting and supervision for banks, translates these developments into global policies of ING Bank and advises ING Bank's Executive Board, Supervisory Board and Business lines on the business impact and application thereof. In addition the Head of Policies & Procedures is also globally responsible for the internal control framework over financial reporting (SOX) and the Finance support of ING's Mergers & Acquisitions activities.The most important areas of involvement/accountability are:1. Responsible for ensuring ING's external reporting complies with all IFRS and Regulatory reporting requirements.a. Developing and ensuring consistency of the policies used by ING and all the Business Units for financial and regulatory reportingb. Responsible for reviewing the content of the financial reports to be published by ING, in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.c. Consulting with other financial institutions both nationally and internationally, as well as with regulatory/supervisory bodies, ensuring that ING's positions regarding external reporting gain maximum support.d. Acting as contact for Group and Business Line Management regarding technical issues on external reportinge. Providing education and training to Group senior management and business units regarding (developments in) ING's principles for external reporting.f. Continuous improvement of the Global SOx framework2. The Global Head will also represent ING in several external committees (e.g. European Banking Federation, Dutch Banking Association, International Institute of Finance) and need to be build relationships with regulatory bodies like the DNB/ECB/EBA/AFM and the SEC. You also manage the relationship and contract with ING's external auditors.3. Development of the P&P Function and its peoplea. Responsible for vision and strategy formulation of the P&P departmentb. Drive the further development of the Function and its people such that this function will be seen as a true Center of Excellence.c. Strong focus on personal development of team members. Preferably a post-master degree in accounting or control (CPA/RA).15+ years of senior professional experience within the banking sector in the area of Accounting, Financial Reporting and Control and/or Audit.Sound experience in the area of Finance and you are familiar with IFRS and regulatory requirements (CRR / CRD)Extensive knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives and balance sheet managementRewards & benefitsWe want to make sure that it's possible for you to strike the right balance between your career and your private life.
