Job Overview

The role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the creation and execution of DMC strategic planning and PMO activities. Role ensures plans are consistent with the overall strategy set, and supports the teams in their execution, with the objective of maximizing business outcomes.

Job Scope

Objectives of the role:

Ensure creation of comprehensive and robust marketing, sales and product plans, aligned with the overall DMC strategy.

Steer business planning activity throughout the year, supporting the plans adjustment and execution, providing anticipation to bring teams to plan & execute on time, and oversee the optimized delivery of initiatives that maximize business outcomes.

Act as a gatekeeper of the strategy, and a facilitator who breaks silos.

Oversee all PMO activities to ensure key initiatives are monitored and tracked with risk and issues highlighted and corrective actions identified and implemented.

Responsibilities

Drive the development of the DMC annual plan as well as lead the long-term strategic planning process.

Work closely with Finance to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

Through analysis and benchmarking, guide the definition of strategic initiatives.

Lead business planning / commercial forums aiming at planning, discussing, and reviewing business activities.

Adopt a data-driven approach to drive teams to build the right initiatives.

Challenge and guide marketing, sales and product teams to ensure relevance, consistency, measurability, and optimization of the various business activities.

Communicate business plans to ensure information circulates between the various departments.

Alert on risks and opportunities, and suggest actions.

Provide reporting on business activity and its outcomes in a simple and efficient way, adjusted to the audience.

Lead collaboration meetings with destination stakeholders to present DMC plans, and discuss opportunities for joint activities.

Circulate information internally and engage relevant stakeholders and internal departments on the various activities.

Support the Planning team with the execution of strategic transversal projects.

Manage the overall PMO function for the DMC ensuring all key projects are tracked and monitored.

Create a forum with all key DMC stakeholders to review progress, identify risks and ensure corrective actions are in place and monitored.

Lead / support on ad-hoc initiatives in the initial establishment of the DMC.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements

Essential:

Master degree or equivalent in business, marketing or equivalent.

7+ years' experience in the tourism industry (tour operator, theme parks, DMC, OTA, DMO).

Various roles highlighting ability to address diverse business topics (marketing, sales, partnerships, digital, revenue management, etc.).

Business mindset, results driven.

Consumer centric.

Financially astute.

Discipline and organisation.

Analytical mindset.

Stakeholder and communication management.

Planning.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excel & PowerPoint proficiency.

Ethics, compliance and governance standards.

Autonomy.

Desirable:

Strategic planning and business planning experience.

Previous consulting experience.

Experience of managing a PMO function.
