Deutsche Telekom Gurgaon is a technology development center and we started our operations at the Gurgaon Center with the intent of building products for 10 countries in Europe. We create compelling digital propositions by building scalable and agile platforms to provide the best of digital experience to Deutsche Telekom customers across Europe. We are setting up an end to end digital shop to build products and solutions including mobile apps, commerce platform, user analytics and engagement platforms with strong focus on user experience and product excellence. We aim to bring all the Deutsche Telekom customers onto our digital products by simplifying the experience. This includes innovative approaches to allow the user to explore compelling propositions, recommend most suitable services based on micro segmentation and so on. Deutsche Telekom is fourth largest Multinational Telecom operator with · 230mn + subscribers · ~$85bn + revenues, $4bn+profits; · ~45% contributed by Europe For more details: Job Description: As Director DevOps, you serve as the technical anchor for an engineering team. You create, own and are responsible for the Cloud & DevOps architecture that best serves a product in its functional and strategic needs. Responsibilities: · Experience leading AWS DevOps engineering teams of leads & engineers in a fast paced, delivery focused environment. · Will be working primarily on a set of digital products focused on consumer facing containerized web & mobile applications, content streaming, distributed data stores, data engineering & analytics, serverless functions & hosting of API’s. · A strong focus on automation and cloud-native thinking. A proven record of working within distributed infrastructures and experience in Cloud technology specifically AWS. · Will be responsible for delivery of all the technical implementation as per the requests in JIRA for different self-hosted & managed resources on AWS in an automated fashion, using the best practices of DevOps, security & cost optimisation. · Own technical documentation for everything Cloud DevOps in Confluence. · Plan and prioritise work for your team, including collaborating with cross border teams. · Provide oversight and accountability for technical decisions. · Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers. · You will collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, QA and DevOps Engineers in an agile development environment. · Constantly learn and grow as an engineer and an engineering leader. · Demonstrate a passion for customers and technology. Requirements: · Computer Sc. engineering graduate with 17-20 years of relevant work experience in AWS, DevOps & team management. · Extremely knowledgeable on Linux, Shell Scripting, AWS core services (VPC, EC2 S3 IAM, RDS), Amazon EKS/Kubernetes, GIT, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana. · Build management of digital services based on Java & React / React Native. · Strong operating system fundamentals with a focus on performance optimisation & reliability of the system. · Has exposure to networking concepts (SSH, FTP, TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, CDN etc. )· Good to have experience working with distributed systems & databases (SQL, NoSQL, Cache), stream-processing (Kafka), message-queuing (RabbitMQ) & search & analytics platform (ELK). · Hands on experience building microservices architecture, applying design patterns and developing frameworks · Excellent organisational, verbal & written communication skills. · Aptitude to be a good team player & the desire to learn & implement new Open Source technologies. · Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers · Consistent track record for solution delivery, quality improvements, champion for agile scrum adoption. · Have a strong focus on business outcomes · Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders · Self-motivated and can get things done · Have the ability to communicate and defend your ideas clearly · Have a strong knowledge of threading, concurrency, scaling, and high availability. · Have a desire to build products that users love · Stay current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education · AWS Solution Architect / Professional certified a plus. · Handled team of 30-40 resources.
