Reporting to the Production Manager, this role manages the operations of the mill using complex production, safety and quality processes. The role exercises considerable supervision, reporting responsibilities, plans and implements in-house training programs. Ridley is an Equal Opportunity Employer who also offers a competitive package with a range of employee benefits.The key responsibilities for this position include:Directly responsible for the supervision of employees on shift, providing them with information, instruction, training, coaching and guidance to enable them to work in a safe and efficient manner.Act on the company's behalf to ensure the safe work practice of employees, contractors and visitors while on siteEnsure JSA, confined space and other safety permits and procedures are followed and completedEnsures shift operations focuses on customer requirements and assists with meeting customer delivery targetsCompliance with relevant Quality requirements, ensuring activities comply with the programs and assist in maintaining Quality accreditation'sDemonstrates Ridley values through leadership training and supervisionSupervises and participates in objective setting, plan development and performance review of employees in consultation with ManagerPrepares reports, analyses data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and problem solvingActively promotes and supports the Continuous Improvement programReviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate/solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement.Participates in site audits including Safety, HACCP, Feed safe and close out actions as required through Site ManagerActively support site initiatives in line with Ridley programs, community links, responsible recycling/ waste programs, environmental requirementsThe key skills required for this role includeDemonstrated supervisory experience -ability to lead and coach a teamDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated experience working in a complex manufacturing environmentKnowledge of Microsoft office, Preventative maintenance systems and ERP systemsSound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation.Demonstrated competence in the use of CI tools. (5 Why, 3C, Win/Win Success)Confined space certificateCurrent Drivers and Forklift licencesIntermediate skills in Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)This is combined with the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, high levels of initiative and driving accountability in all aspects of the role.How to applyIf this is you please click 'Apply Now' below and provide both your resume and cover letter.
